In one of his last interviews, Sándor Kányádi called himself the most fortunate member of his generation. “There are those who are more talented, who have written greater things, but I certainly am the most fortunate,” for having such paternal friends as Károly Kós, Áron Tamási, Gyula Illyés, and Áron Márton, former Roman Catholic bishop of Gyulafehérvár (Alba Iulia).

The poet, who passed away in the summer of 2018, was one of the most eminent artists of our time, with an oeuvre that guarantees his position in the literary pantheon of Bálint Balassi, Mihály Csokonai Vitéz, Sándor Petőfi, Attila József, and Sándor Weöres.

On this evening, his person and poetry will be evoked by distinguished actors and musicians, artists who are attached to Transylvania – in a dynamic, cheerful, and playful manner, as it befits the most fortunate man in the world.
